The Bible

‘Oh no! I didn’t mean to click on this page’, but STOP! Don’t hit that <Home> button just yet. Reading this demands nothing other than a couple of minutes, but it could change your life.

The Bible is a unique book that is made up of 66 individual books written over a period of 1500 years. There are over 5000 historical documents supporting the New Testament (The second part of the Bible) alone.

Even though it was written over such a long period with so many authors being used to write the books, there is one single and consistent message that runs throughout, that God loves us and sent His own Son to die for our sins so that we can have everlasting life.

Don’t take my word for it; let me show you what the Bible says.

(10 things that might change your life)

1. The Bible says: that everything we read in it is God’s own words to us (2 Timothy 3:16)

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness

2. The Bible says: that God created everything (John 1:3)

Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.

3. The Bible says: that even though God made us, all men have rebelled against Him (Romans 3:23)

for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,

4. The Bible says: how serious this rebellion is, but that God also has an alternative for us (Romans 6:23)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

5. The Bible says: that God loved us enough to send His Son to make that alternative possible (John 3:16)

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

6. The Bible says: that Jesus, God’s Son, died for our sins (Romans 5:8)

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

7. The Bible says: that Jesus rose from the dead (1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

8. The Bible says: that if we believe that Jesus died and rose from the dead for us and we make Him Lord over our lives, we will be saved, we will have everlasting life (Romans 10:9-10)

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.

9. The Bible says: that Jesus Himself has gone to prepare a place for those who follow Him (John 14:1-3)

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

10. The Bible says: that Jesus is coming again for those who have believed (1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord for ever.
